The story behind the name

January 1, 2013 - 1 minute read

I am a paper freak.

Cambridge Street Papers was founded in 2007 as a tribute to my sister-in-law, Patti Love. We shared a love of all things paper and the art of letterpress. We often dreamed –and joked– of one day opening a boutique offering fine stationery and special gifts. When Patti succumbed to cancer in 2005, I vowed to make our dream a reality.

In April of that year, I opened Cambridge Street Papers. It is named for the street Patti lived on in Cambridge, Ma. In honoring her creativity, we offer many lines of stationery from smaller houses around the country. This allows us to create custom invitations, birth announcements, and social stationery which reflect the taste and unique style of our clients. I enjoy working with many different styles of printing, especially in letterpress I love how the ink just kisses the paper – there is nothing more beautiful.

In January of 2012, we relocated to Madison, just a little over two miles from our Chatham address. I was lucky to find a location with large inviting windows on a quaint side street near the famous Madison clock. The Madison community has been incredibly welcoming and encouraging. Not a day goes by where a customer doesn’t say that they are grateful that there is a place they can go to purchase great cards. Best of all I am next to Crowley’s Cupcakes!
